Like a bird, I'm free.

Winter outfit (layers are a must in 30 degree weather) when I was back at school in Washington

Sorry for my absence (again). I know I tend to take long breaks between each post and I am truly sorry about my lack of consistency =( Fortunately Fall semester of my sophomore year of college is over (meaning all the classes from hell I had to take are finally out of my life), so I am making it my goal to post more frequently and creatively while I'm on holiday break!

Through tears I watch young lovers

Sweater: Thrifted
Dress: Forever 21
Shoes: Thrifted
Jacket: Thrifted

The temperature is dropping, but I am still clinging onto my dresses and skirts. I can't feel my legs whenever I walk outside (30 degree weather will do that) Things I do for fashion though, right? These were taken when the sun still made appearances- now I must suffer through finals and a vitamin D deficiency.

~When I'm Lit~

Dress: Thrifted
Visor: Target
Shoes: Thrifted

Found this super sexy and well fitting boyfriend shirt-dress at the thrift store last week (I've been thrift shopping once a week, someone please, stop me) and I'm madly in love with it! A lot of boyfriend shirts that I tried on in mainstream stores were so ill-fitting I was beginning to think this look wasn't for me. But alas, I'm happy I was able to wear this outfit before it got too cold!

Getting There.

Jacket: Forever 21
Dress: Urban outfitters
Sneakers: New Balance

This outfit was photographed a few weeks ago, when there weren't as many dead leaves on the ground. Fall is finally taking over and it makes me both excited for the colder, cozier weather but also sad that I wont be seeing/feeling the sun for a few months.
This weekend is my Fall Break so my friends and I are going to this resort spa in the mountains to relax and swim naked in hot springs- a much needed trip to escape and melt away the stress from school!

Honey Baby...

Coat- Thrifted
Shirt- From my Mom's Closet
Jeans- Thrifted
Boots- H&M

The 70's look is back in full force this autumn/fall season and I am all about it! I love the slick and almost over the top cliche look this jacket gives me- walking around my campus in this coat is an automatic way to grab everyone's attention. Since this coat (with its dramatic fur collar) is such a statement piece I paired it with really simple pieces like my white tank and mom jeans, just to balance it out.
These past few weeks I've been at college trying to get adjusted to the school grind again so I apologize for the sparse post! Life as a sophomore is already busy and a tad bit stressful, but already 10x better than freshman year!
Also if you have the time, check me out at http://www.collegefashionista.com/styl-guru-bio-nia-harrill/ , I have a fashion blogger internship there and have just written my first article!

~Fleetwood Mac in the background~

Cardigan- Forever 21
Dress- Thrifted
Shoes- Forever 21

As I was editing these photos, the powerful yet soothing voice of Stevie Nicks came from my computer speakers as "Dreams" by Fleetwood Mac played from my Spotify playlist. It hit me that this outfit is very similar to something Stevie or one of her fans watching her perform at Woodstock would've worn! During the summer months I am ALL about wearing loose, breezy clothing so, naturally I paired the lace cardigan and dress together. Some might consider the cardigan a Fall piece because of the color, but I rarely follow those limiting fashion rules. Walking around in this ensemble gave me a feeling of being one with the warm breeze that lifted the ends of the cardigan and sent that whimsically trailing behind me. I felt like a woodland fairy princess, which is always a vibe to strive for haha.

Around B-Town

Before I left Downtown Baltimore to visit family, my parents and I visited another museum by the George Washington memorial. It was super cute down there with the cobblestone roads and antique buildings.

~Protect your roots~

Top: H&M
Skirt: H&M
Turban: Target
Shoes: Forever 21

While I was taking these pictures this guy was catcalling me from his truck and I have never been more disgusted in my entire life. Why do men think sexualizing random women is attractive? It's extremely uncomfortable and makes me fearful when I should not have to be. I thought wearing all black would keep the creeps away but I guess not. Maybe I need black lipstick too.

BAM!

Wanted to show off some of the art pieces that I saw at the Baltimore Art Museum! From Monet to Picasso and modern art exhibits, I was so thrilled to be surrounded by all of that amazing art. It's one of the best feelings to just look at art pieces and have something strike you and really make you feel something- usually awe, calm or familiarity.

~Make You Feel~

Shirt: Urban Outfitters
Skirt: Urban Outfitters
Shoes: New Balance

Took pictures of my outfit in different locations at the Baltimore Art Museum! The skirt is actually a skort,  which is a throwback to elementary school haha, but it's so convenient! I love wearing mini skirts, but I always feel extremely self-conscious about everyone seeing my GOODS IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN LOL. So with built in shorts I dont have to worry about that. On another note, I felt hella sexy in this outfit which is always a great confidence booster.

It's a full moon out.

Currently in Baltimore and really enjoying the city! I've been to Baltimore a few times before but never had the chance to actually see the cool spots in the city! The last few photos were taken on a night walk after dinner- even though the sun was down, the city was lit up beautifully and the warm & humid weather outside felt like the perfect summer night!
